Day 3

Thursday 30th July:

Today was a very exciting day, as we took a trip to Wallibi World Theme Park!

We began the morning with our usual 'Minion Minyan' and breakfast, before heading out on the coach. We soon arrived, and could barely contain our excitement as we hopped off the coach. We had such an amazing time going on all the rides! Those of us that were daring enough had fun on the bigger, faster ones, whilst those who preferred something slower enjoyed the train and merry-go-round. We really enjoyed the arcades and other activities there and, whatever rides we went on, everyone had a great time!

When we arrived back at Peace Village, everyone had some free time to wind down after such an exciting day, as well as restock from the tuck shop, before a hot dinner.

After dinner, we continued with a fun, action packed two hour programme (tochnit) with Rabbi Levin, ‘Gameshow’, where we underwent a series of challenges, including a total wipeout obstacle course, million pound drop and a Mr and Mrs style game, involving some great participation from Kerach parents! It was so much fun!! We ended the evening off with a couple of games, which tired everyone out! We all went to bed exhausted but in great spirits after such a fun packed day!

Day 2

Wednesday 29th July:

We started the day off as we will every day of camp, with ‘Minion Minyan’, an engaging tefilla service for the participants, before a yummy breakfast.

Next up was our first Challenge session! We were all split into set groups for the duration of camp, where we will discuss various intellectual and stimulating topics, as well as carry out thought provoking activities. It's also a great way to get to know each other and the madrichim on a more personal level. Today we discussed the role of the shul in the community, and it was great to see everyone getting actively involved in the discussion.

We then had some fun water activities, involving races, duck duck goose with water and slip and slide, to mention just a few, where we all got drenched but had so much fun and we were in great spirits!

Lunch preceded an engaging programme (tochnit) about Israel, where the participants were given the opportunity to learn about different cities in Israel before choosing the materials to build their own.

Lunch was followed by iClub, which is organised free time. Over the next week we’ll be having a few iClub sessions, where we get to spend time getting to know each other as well as working on a project together in our groups. Today we had fun playing dodgeball and football, as well as engaging in some drama workshops.

In the evening we had a fun fancy dress Family Fortunes activity after dinner, with various exciting and ridiculous costumes. What a great first day!

Day 1

Tuesday 28th July

We began our journey from Toys 'R' Us to Dover, where we boarded the ferry, which was a good chance for us to stretch our legs for a bit. We had fun looking at the great views as we crossed the Channel, as well as a chance to start getting to know each other.

We soon arrived at Calais, and settled down on the coach again for the last bit on our journey to Belgium. When we arrived at The Peace Village, we got to see the amazing facilities, including a great outdoor area! Everyone then had a chance to unpack and get settled, ready for a fun evening.
Once we had freshened up, we had fun playing some ‘get-to-know-you’ and ice-breaker games, where we got to meet madrichim, roshim and scanim, as well as each other. We had some picture fun with our new Tribe frames, before sitting down to a very welcomed, nice, hot dinner.

The evening continued with an exciting game in the dark, where everyone had to run around and catch the members of the opposite team. This really helped to get us to all feel comfortable with each other, and a great way to learn everyone's names. This also helped to set the fun, action packed tone for Camp Kerach. We’re all ready and excited for the rest of camp! More to follow...
